We each have our own definition of fun, which is how it should be. And certainly at different ages and stage of life, that definition changes. I recently saw the new Disney – Christopher Robin movie. It was delightful, how fun! Of course, I am a Winnie the Pooh fan. The characters are always sharing simple yet deep and powerful wisdom, if you really listen. And this movie continues to inspire, yet it is from a different perspective as the movie promos are showing. Christopher Robin has grown up. And that is all I will say. I am not going to spoil this movie for anyone.
I was really moved by the power of the Red Balloon. It is such a basic object that has been part of childhood for many years. The color Red has many meanings… but here it speaks Enthusiasm to me. And Balloons speak of childhood, celebrations and, mostly, Fun!
So, are you having fun on a regular basis? Have you been laughing or at least smiling? How much enthusiasm are you sharing at work, in your free time or in your relationships? I know that not everything in life is overly joyful. But we can choose to make other parts of our life more enjoyable. We are the ones who have that power. It is our life, after all.
This week, make time to have fun. Some of you like to be spontaneous — Great, go for it. Others like to plan their activities and time more carefully — Wonderful. Do what works best for YOU! I am simply challenging you to have more fun. If you get inspired, send me a note and let me know what you are doing, or who you are having fun with. Pictures are great too. They can speak very clearly. (And I may share some on my website!)
I wish all of you a joyous week — whether that means rambunctious and energetic or peaceful and low key. That is totally up to YOU! Fun is waiting for you!
