Get Started with Affirmations

Last week, we talked about making a list of your objectives for the new year, and I encouraged you to DREAM BIG! Now we want to take that list and turn it into Affirmations to help you reach those goals.

Affirmations are positive statements — assertions that something is true. Take your list of objectives and turn each item into a short sentence asserting that you have already achieved that objective.

Get Started with Affirmations

For example, if you want to do more fun things in the coming year, your affirmation may be ‘I am always attracting fun stuff into my life!

Then read those statements aloud with confidence and purpose every day, even more than once per day. Repeating these statements aloud will impress upon your subconscious mind a level of confidence and assurance that these statements are facts. Getting Started with Affirmations Made a Big Difference in My Life

Many years ago I was inspired by an enlightened chiropractor, Dr. Milton T. Morter, Jr. (founder of the B.E.S.T. technique). He was focused on the Energy of the Body! and I was looking for a new approach to my wellness. At this time I was not in good health and had little positive outlook. After working with me for a bit, he assessed my state of mind and assigned me a personal affirmation. His instructions were to post it around my environment so I would see it and repeat it aloud over and over. 

I couldn’t help but laugh when he told me the Affirmation: “I am happy, healthy and full of abundant energy!” At that time, that statement felt like a total lie! Fortunately, I trusted him and the process, and did as he suggested. Day by day, it started to seem that this was not a lie after all, and it started me on the journey that has resulted in the healthy, energetic, and joyful person I am today.

What you think about becomes reality. Focusing on what you want out of life will help you reach those goals!
